Why Wine?

Why wine?

Sometimes, I ask myself the same question.

What fascinates me in regards to wine, is it's history. Wine has been around for 6,000 years. SIX thousand years guys! It's fascinating.

I love wine. I come from a family that loves wine, and yet knows nothing about wine. Now, my 'family loving wine' meant my mom randomly would have a glass of Riesling and call it a wine party. We bought bottles that were pretty and would enjoy a bottle on holidays, or a random weekend. Yes... you can love wine, and know nothing about wine at the same time. Your knowledge of nothing leads to something... and as long as you find what you like, you're there.

That love for wine grew over a decade, decade-and-a-half.  I found what I like better, and what I liked less. I did a little more research on the why and the what, which lead me further down a rabbit trail.

That rabbit trail reminded me that I love being a student,  and that I have a deep, deep love for learning. Why not become a sommelier? I found a school, peeked around... and signed up for school. Became a sommelier. Check. Now I know more about wine, but the mystery and the to learn still prevails.

Now here I am... sharing my love of wine. Sharing how to love and appreciate wine. Sharing how to pair wine with life, even if you don't know much.

And no, there's nothing wrong with drinking wine nightly.
